Long adventure races, with a nonstop race time up to 6-7 days, required huge amounts of energy. We have learned that our performance is strongly enhanced when we refuel with high quality meals instead of snacks and sugar. Meals from Mountain House are very tasty, yet not too spicy, and easy to handle. If possible, we eat them every race day. Warm if possible, but often we enjoy them cold while on the move. Do you ship outside of the UK?
Yes – however due to import regulations on meat and poultry we are not able to ship Mountain House products to individuals who live outside the European Union.

Information about our customers is an important part of our business. The only information we collect is what you submit to us and is used only by Mountain House for Marketing and research purposes. We are not in the business of selling the information we collect to others.
How quickly can I expect my order to be dispatched?
All orders placed via our website will be shipped within 3-5 working days.
What is the shelf life of Mountain House products?
Pouches
Based on storage studies conducted over many years, our shelf life is at least 5 years from the date of manufacture if stored properly. For best results, we recommend the pouches be stored unopened in a cool dry area. For more information about our shelf life, please click on product shelf life.
Our Fruits have a 2 year shelf life and our meats have a 1 year shelf life.
Tins
Our products packed in Bulk Tins offer a 25+ year shelf life. In the US our colleagues have personally tasted product that is 35 years old and it still tastes great! After opening, we recommend using the contents within 1 week for best results and taste. Use the convenient resealable plastic lid between uses. Treat any leftover food as you would fresh food. What happens after the shelf life has expired?
Pouches
We guarantee a 5 year shelf life (under recommended storage conditions) for quality of taste and appearance. After 5 years, as long as the pouch has not been punctured or opened, you might notice a slight difference in taste and appearance.
Tins
We guarantee a 25 year shelf life (under recommended storage conditions) for quality of taste and appearance. After 30 years, as long as the can has not been punctured or opened, you might notice a slight difference in taste and appearance.
Do you have any gluten free meals?
Yes. All of our products have the specific allergen breakdown information listed on their pages.
How much water is required per pouch?
Each meal details the amount of water needed for optimum rehydration on the back of the packet. The actual amount varies by product. Please click link for a visual indication of the pouch fill levels.

Can our meals be prepared with cold/room temperature water?
Yes. All of our meals are fully cooked and then freeze dried. In an extreme situation if you had to use cold or room temperature water, the re-hydration time would be twice as long (about 18-20 minutes).
